Panasonic's first octa core smartphone surprised us in some areas, while being disappointed in others. The phone has the now age old slab like design which with the 5.5 inch screen makes it too big. We didn't like how it felt in our hand neither would it fit nicely in the pocket. Moreover, the gesture play lock screen quickly got frustrating when trying to unlock the phone in hurry. The feature requires you to draw a pattern in order to unlock the phone. Thankfully this can be turned off. Panasonic's strength in this phone lies in its camera and performance. The camera took some of the sharpest pictures we have seen, better than competitors the micromax canvas knight. The device beats most other in its segments in performance, even outdoing the much higher priced Moto X. The only downside is its 1gb of ram, which sometimes fell short, as games and apps would crash because of it. Its stellar battery supports extended gaming sessions quite admirably, and without heating up easily as well. Despite all that we recommend Panasonic P81 apart from the negatives mentioned above, the UI is not very impressive and takes a long time to get used to.
