This late 2014 and 2015 has been a great year for both the operating system that we all use regularly. Android still in its treat mood released the mega operating system that is the Android lollipop and it was a huge success as it had revolutionized the mobile market, the lollipop was released for a limited number of android phone brands and soon by the end of this year we will all be having Android lollipop running in our devices. But Apple wasn't sleeping as it also released the iPhone 6 and the 6 plus which all of them were running on a new iOS that was 8.1. Now you can update any of your iPhone to the iOS 8.1, as said above, by the end of this year we will see all iPhone and other Apple device with the latest software. So without further ado do a quick comparison between the two new releases.
The look & feel
When we say new OS update then the first thing that comes into our mind is the look and feel. Android lollipop has blown all of our minds with its new material design and cool new animations for all the functions which gave it a premium feel and at least we would know that everything is coming from somewhere rather than just pop into the screen. iOS also changed the game last year by completely overhauling its interface with minimalist design with flat and beautiful new icons. This was followed by another revolutionary change in 2015 with the release of the iOS 8.
Android lollipop
Android has also incorporated a number of new features with its new release. Some of them are
1. With android lollipop you can make it look how you want it to be.
2. From a swipe away you can access the flashlight function if your phone has one, and no need of third party apps to access your flashlight as in older versions of Android.
3. Now you can have your data secured even if you are going to give your phone for someone, by just creating a new user profile just like in windows.
4. Also with all other goodies from the new Android your phone can also last long with the new fix for better battery management which results in a battery life of your phone when compared to other OS
5. In older Androids like the kitkat you couldn't get notifications as soon as you wake up your phone sure you can use third party applications. But in lollipop its the other way around, now you can view, dismiss or take a preferred action of your notifications from your lock screen.
There are more new features but we are going with the top five of them.
iOS 8
iOS is also great as it boasts a lot of new features when compared to Android
1. You can now easily shop online by just scanning your credit cards rather the typing or use the more convenient Apple pay.
2. Watching a video and receive a important message, then no worries as you can type in the upper part and reply to your messages.
3. If you accidentally delete your photo and you realize that it is important then you can undo the delete as iOS 8 stores deleted photos for 30 days.
4. Want to save your money over phone then connect to a WiFi and voila you can make calls over WiFi too.
5. If you got sensitive photos and videos on your phone and if ti gets stolen you can self destruct ( delete) them remotely, also just like Android device manager you can also tract and lock your iPhone.
Conclusion
If you are planning to buy a new smartphone then go for the android as it offers you a better choice of apps and better customization and better features when compared to an iPhone. But when you compare the security then go for the iPhone as it has got a better app store compared to android. With apps that are verified by Apple for and spyware or virus.
So your are the end user of any smartphone, so be free to drop your views and ideas about the both.
